Miriam Bott, M.A., LPC, Trained in Gottman Level 3
Miriam Bott earned her BA in psychology from the University of Michigan and then completed a master’s degree in Counseling at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has completed Gottman level three training and is working towards certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
During her time as a therapist, Miriam has worked with individuals, couples and families in several capacities including depression and anxiety, eating disorders, marriage issues, infidelity, forgiveness, divorce, blended families, domestic violence issues and crisis pregnancy. She is also certified as a Prepare-Enrich facilitator and enjoys doing pre-marital counseling with this assessment tool. In addition to Biblical wisdom, Miriam draws from several theoretical orientations including Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused counseling theories.
Aside from counseling, Miriam is passionate about social justice and racial reconciliation and is involved in various ways through her church and personal studies. She is in the trenches raising her three children and growing as a godly wife and mother. In her down time, she loves traveling with her husband, hanging with her friends, going for runs and playing viola and saxophone.
